Bookkeeper/Accounts Assistant


We are looking for someone to run our existing bookkeeping and business services bureau function, to liaise with clients as appropriate, prepare VAT returns and submit on a quarterly basis, prepare management accounts for some clients and provide support to the accounts department preparing accounts. You would be reporting direct to partners and working alongside other members of staff as appropriate.


Whilst the role is based in Oxford there is occasional work in Carterton and at clients’ premises, therefore a full UK driving licence is required.


This is a growth area in our business and the right candidate would be able to help with development.


This role has previously been carried out on a full-time basis, but we would be happy to consider part-time/job sharing.


Candidate Attributes


  • You will be a friendly, outgoing person used to dealing with a wide variety of clients.


  • You will have experience using Xero and ideally be Xero certified. Experience of other accounting packages (e.g. Sage) would be beneficial although not essential.


  • You should have or be actively working towards an AAT level qualification. Support for further formal training will be provided as necessary.


Experience of working in a practice/bureau environment desirable.
